"The massive flood in the 14 districts of West Bengal, India affected millions of people and damages hundreds of billion dollars of property in 2017. Ena Nayak, a junior year student of St. Francis Catholic High School raised fund through crowdfunding to support the flood victims in West Bengal, India. She went to India and worked with the NGO workers in rural areas in the Purba Medinipur district of West Bengal to support the flood victims, and old age homes.
Thank you all for your contribution and support!!"

Currently in India, fifty-five million people are visually impaired. Sadly, this number increases every year because majority of the people in India are poverty-stricken and are unable to pay for the required eye procedures. Sankara Eye Foundation is a charitable organization working tirelessly to help eradicate curable blindness in India and abroad. This foundation is a 501 © organization which is registered with the Internal Revenue Services of the United States government and any monetary contribution is tax deductible. I have been an active volunteer for the Sankara Eye Foundation ever since 2016 and you might have seen me setting up stands during poojas in order to help raise funds for this organization. However, this year I planned on taking my fundraising efforts to a larger scale. On March 31, 2018, Sankara Eye Foundation and myself hosted a musical night called “ The Wonders of India”. During this event, we had multiple regional groups from India highlighting the myriad, wondrous, and multicultural diversities of India. Additionally, we had professional musicians perform to enrich, enthrall, and serenade the gathered audience. Robert Gaylord our local Folsom Congressman was the Chief Guest. I was able to raise $5,300 and present the check to Mr Murali The President of SEF US Chapter. This amount will be helpful to perform free cataract surgery to about 200 people back in India. I feel proud of being able to contribute to such a great cause and give back to the community.
